Rory and Geraldine Clarke of Dureka Dental Ltd were the winners of the Innovation Award at the Louth County Final of the National Enterprise Awards in March 2020.
The awards ceremony was hosted by the Local Enterprise Office Louth with guests of honour Cathaoirleach of Louth County Council, Cllr Liam Reilly, and Chief Executive, Joan Martin.
A Long Road to Success
Dureka Dental is not an overnight success, but for the majority of the last decade they have been working to establish themselves in the field of precision dental handpieces.
Since 2012 the Dureka Dental project has been work in progress, working on the development and design of their dental handpieces. Now after several years, their hard work and dedication has paid off.
Dureka Dental Ltd is a fully accredited medical device manufacturer, certified by TUV SUD Munich Germany. A dental handpiece being a Class II(a) medical device which requires complex regulatory approval.
In 2019, Dureka Dental achieved certification and launched their products at the International Dental Show in Cologne, (IDS) Germany. Dureka products are high quality precision instruments of impeccable design for optimal performance, patient and user safety and comfort.
With this stellar achievement Dureka have many more plans in the pipeline. This Dundalk-based company being one of a small number of dental handpiece manufacturers worldwide is positioned to take a slice of the global dental equipment market worth an estimated $7.5 billion per annum.
